TO TALK... tom_mert@hotmail.co.uk
Tom was born in devon in 1993. He was 4 weeks premiture. Toms father rushed into hospital to be with his wife. At 11 minutes past 11, Tom was born on the 14th of december. As Tom grew up, he developed a strong relationship with his mother and grandparents, but, not his father. On Toms first day at primamry school, he made a friend called Leanne. She, however turned out to be a biting bitch. As Toms primary school years rolled on, Tom made new friends but also started to get bullied. People started to call him gay because everybody knew that Tom had a femenine side. Tom denied this but deep down he knew that something wasnt right. By the end of primary school, Tom had a fair few good friends. He moved to secondary school with them. As Tom approached the school gates on his first day at secondary school, he was scared that the name-calling that he had in his previous school would continue. The year went on with the same friends. Every lunchtime he would meet up with them. Tom began to realise that being stuck with the same 3 friends for a whole year, every day was like being closed up. There was more to life. He made some new friends. A variety of friends. In this group of friends was a boy who was gay. Tom got to know him more and suddenly, everything fell into place. Tom was gay, just like everyone had said. In year 8, Tom got his first boyfriend. The guy he met in the previous year. Tom was delighted but the relationship didn't last long. But they're still friends today. Even though Tom was happy being gay and had been for about 6 months now, he knew that his parents didn't know. He spent weeks trying to find a right moment to tell them but couldn't. He didn't want to tell his dad. One day, Tom and his mum were at home just talking. Tom felt that he had to tell her now while the time was right. So he did. After that he felt so relieved. At the begining of year 9, the bullying started up again. Tom couldn't take it so he decided to move schools, even though it would mean leaving his friends behind. At the new school, everyone had heard of him. When I arrived, everyone loved Tom. He was thrilled. Since primary school, Tom has changed so much. Clothes, hair, personality. He has become a stronger person. Tom now is happy with his life, sexuality and friends but trust me, there is alot more to him than meets the eye. |
