Something You Should Know About Me
"We don't always know what we're doing, but we're doing it anyway!"
Camcorder Bandits is for ordinary everyday people, who like to make films & videos with camcorders or other filming devices.
This channel is hosted and run by Kev & Rick.
We are NOT graduates from film school, we don't have any formal film training. We just like to go out with our camcorders and make films in our own way, learning from our experiences as we go, and hopefully be able to pass that experience on to others.
"IT'S ABOUT THE JOURNEY!"
This channel will be about our journey into filmmaking, and you are invited to join us on the trip and be a part of the experience as it unfolds!
Great times lay ahead for anyone subscribing to this channel! Not least because this channel is primarily going to guided by YOUR input (mainly through the live shows).
Our goal is to create a community, made up of ordinary people just like you and us - The vlogger, the hobby filmmaker, the slideshow maker, the music video maker and the low/zero budget filmmaker.
In short, anyone who has a basic camcorder or filmy thingy, a brain, and a desire to make any kind of video, then this channel is your friend!
Not only will it become a valuable resource to help you make your video projects better, but it will also be a fun and interractive place to be!
How?
1. LIVE SHOWS!
We will be hosting regular live shows, starting Saturday 2nd August 2008 at around 7pm GMT. You will be able to see us in real time and interract with us personally.
Ask us any questions you may have about your video projects. Let us know the kind of things you want to see happening on/with the Camcorder Bandits Channel.
(The live broadcasts will be held on stickam - all approved YouTube "friends" will receive invites 10 mins before we go live)
2. HOW-TO VIDEOS!
We will be making useful, practical "how-to" videos, based on our experiences, to help you get the most out of your videos.
3. SHOWCASING SUBSCRIBERS' VIDEOS! We will be making review videos - where we regularly review and feature one of our subscribers, whilst offering practical critique and opinions to help them improve and make their videos even better.
4. COMPETITIONS!
YAY! Everyone loves to win prizes - especially when they don't cost you anything! We will be holding regular competitions and giving away all sorts of Camcorder Bandits merchandise!
Things will start off small, but if the channel gets big, we will try to get some sponsorship and see if we can get bigger and better give-aways.
5.MEMBERSHIP
This is currently a pipeline idea, but we will be looking into possible ways of creating some sort of membership/club, with membership priveliges and benefits etc.
6. RESOURCES
We hope to bring you links and web-based freebies such as music and pictures to use in your videos. We are also considering the possibility of creating a stock footage library - the logistics of which still have to be figured out at the moment.
On top of all that, we will still be uploading our independent films and making-of "webisodes" showing behind the scenes footage.
