A direct product of the lively club, rave and afterhours scenes found in greater Los Angeles, James Alderwood landed in Providence 5 years ago on other business. After enduring a few years of the city's nepotistic booking regime and honing his eclectic musical palate, he took an alternative route to playing out and started The Kitchen in January '07, with the twin goals of providing a home for the homeless and bringing you full tilt house beats from across the spectrum. We still don't know what anyone really thinks about all this, but the commitment is deep and you'll hear it in our archives, which read as a who's-who of Providence clubland. Along the way we've had hosting stints with Andrew George, Sean Skee, and Knowlton Walsh. Jack McDevitt and newcomer Dave Jardim have recently joined as co-hosts.
