Hey We are Airdate!
In late 2001, Doug Del Gaudio and Stephen Forys met in highschool. When they had heard that a talent show was being held at the school they decided to sign up, later finding out that they had common musical influences. They began writing songs and needed a guitarist. After many failed candidates, long time friend Chris Loret was found and Airdate was formed. In 2007, bass player Dan Mccabe chose to leave the band due to creative differences. Long time friend Bryan Wichelman, also known as Fry, was asked to join to complete the line-up.
In the summer of 2007, Airdate recorded an EP with former bassist Dan Mccabe, The Kung Fu girls and John Neclario (My Chemical Romance, The Ataris and Brand New) at Nada Studios. Airdate then released the EP “Getting Off the Ground” on i-tunes, Napster and Amazon Mp3 in July of 2007.
In the past year, Airdates fan base has been constantly growing and expanding to different parts of the world. Music sharing websites such as PureVolume and MySpace has helped display the bands music, reaching over 200,000 people and over 200,000 plays in such a short period of time. They have recently been featured several times on music sharing website known as PureVolume.com, receiving more plays then chart topping Billboard artists such as Avril Lavigne, Fall Out Boy, and My Chemical Romance, becoming the 1 unsigned band by plays and downloads several times.
After touring non stop around the tri-state area for the past year and a half, the band decided to crack down and write new material for an up-coming release TBA. In 2008 Airdate plans to make it to a town near you with more music, more friends and more fans!
