My name is Nikki. I am in LOVE with Green Day. They have changed me in so many ways experiencing positive and negative things throughout my life. My mom was the one who made me grow up listening and loving Green Day as much (and even more) as I do today. She told me she would take me to go see them in concert but in 2006 she got cancer and passed away December 13, 2008. Exactly 7 months later I got to go to my first ever concert to see Green Day in Chicago at the United Center. From the second the lights went out, Green Day provided a high energy concert as talented theatrically as it was musically. Green Day, with their immense talent and personality, bridged the gap between generations as they invited the audience to become as much of the concert as the band itself. While they played many of their new songs, they continued with many of the old favorites. Going to a Green Day concert will be the best experiences of your life! I can't tell you enough how much this band means to me. I have collected all their albums and have so many other Green Day merchandise. But, it's not like that matters. Or it shouldn't matter about how much merchandise you have determines how big a fan you are. Whatever mood I am in Green Day always makes it better and beyond. But the one that motivates me the most is Billie Joe Armstrong. His words speak to me on a deep level. Whether he is talking about masturbation or the war in Iraq, whether he’s talking about smoking the devils grass, or singing a love "ballad", everything speaks to me. His words are so strong with so much emotion and passion behind them. He has change peoples lives, give people hope, and he is a funny mother fucker! Billie as a person is so funny, so kind and so down to earth. One day a great friend of mine met Billie, he told her "Fans like you are the reason we will never stop, thank you". No Billie, we thank you! Thank you for giving us amazing music and wanting us to pass on what real music sounds like, letting me meet amazing friends who love Green Day as much as I do, letting us not be afraid to express ourselves, etc. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! Everyday I always thank Billie, Tre and Mike for changing me into who I am today. Others don’t understand why I love them. Many people that are not a Green Day fan, they just don't get it. They are an outsider looking in, thinking we probably all seem overly obsessed and crazy, but us Green Day fans are like a family and we will do any and everything we can for this band and I just wanna say that I fucking love you all so much! I know for a damn fact I will meet Green Day and all my amazing Green Day loving friends! Rage and Love, Nikki <3
