My name is Brandon. I'm 20 years old. I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) at 6 weeks old. My disease has taken a toll on my health the last 5 years. I'm in and out of the hosptial all the time. When I get sick I go on 21 days of IV's, sometimes longer. My parents have taught me to be self-reliant, so I can do my own IV's and night feedings through my g-tube (things a teenager should not really have to know). I take about 60 pills a day and do breathing treatments 3 times a day, 30 minutes a time. I try to live my life just like everyone else and I never give up. I travel a lot and love being outdoors. I like hanging out with my friends and trying to be as normal as possible. I don't think words can describe what a CF patient has to go through every day just to live a life. My faith in God keeps me strong each day and I have no fear of dying because I know I will be in heaven where there is no pain and suffering someday. I try to live each day like there is no tomorrow.
