Consimian is a novice project born of a writer. That writer is me. I am Kyle Weiss. This project is not flashy or cool. I love music, electronics, I type fast and have a small budget for synthesizers... that's it. I suggest you drink a lot of absinthe if you need to see colors; meanwhile, listen to my music if you do, it may be life-changing!

I'm aware of the fact that most music has a message, this is not that message. Everyone has a message. Personally, I get tired of messages. Music should be able to speak for itself and by itself. Yet, here I am prattling on and describing Consimian. Interesting. Actually, that describes Consimian. "Interesting."

Still going to read, huh? Okay fine.

Consimian is a project that came from being interested in sound. Though the namesake is new, the concept has stayed the same. I first became interested in sound in my gradeschool years, and became very attracted to synthesis and electronic music. As computer interest grew as well, it was only natural to put the two together. It started with trackers, a few shitty DOS programs, learning how to turn Gravis controllers into MIDI, eventually getting real gear, pairing it up with old knowledge, recording a few things, dumpster diving and recovering other things to plug in to the mess, then discovering circuit bending. "Consimian," as a namesake came about a couple of years ago, laughing at the term "prosimian," which is, simply put, animals like lemurs. I am not "Pro-Simian," because humans are generally morons, but we have to work with what we're given. You get the idea.

Biography
Smarter than monkeys, stranger than human. We sometimes smell better, too. Consimian is an experiment with purpose. Consimian started more than 10 years ago as tracking programs in DOS, such as Scream Tracker and Impulse Tracker. It expanded to include samplers, drum loopers, and keyboards. More recently, stranger things are coming in to play. It is random yet organized noise, perfection-free ridiculum, altered instruments, modified sound and put together in seemingly incomplete ways. We don't fuck around when we fuck around. Here, we'll attempt to see what we can abuse on the Inter-muh-net.


I am Here for: 
Live social experiments, live electronic experiments, live audio experiments. Improv audio art anyone can come in, love, hate, or just torture themselvs with. Always up for questions, answers and interesting statements and conversation, no matter where I end up around here.

Hobbies:

Welcome to the live version of Consimian!

Essentially what you're going to see here, if I'm live, is in-progress music experimentation, with hardware or sound.

I might be altering a keyboard or an old toy (circuit bending) in an attempt to randomly (or purposefully) make it do something it wasn't designed to do. Keep in mind circuit bending is new in practice to me, though I have been hacking and mod'ding electronic things since I was a child... in essence, I'm not clean or advanced at it, my goal is sound, not something gear nerds are going to want to probe my asshole for. If you do, well, that's flattering. Thank you.

I may also be building parts of tracks to record, which could be a bit more sensible use of your time watching or listening. I may put a collaborative effort with other people as we jam, which could be really neat or a total turd. I may be testing sound equipment, levels, recording, layering... so you get the idea.

KEEP IN MIND: I don't care about giving you attention, I'm doing something else, here, so... go get it elsewhere.

Irritations will be dealt with accordingly.

The sign was actually stolen from a real cat show. My curiosity into what a cat show only opened a room I can only wish I never peered into. It was like walking into a demented circus of people who rarely socialize making judgements seemingly with out guidelines. Joke was on them. I think their lives were more a part of the show than the cats themselves. All the people you see standing in the corner who spread their own misery like an infection to anyone they let near their lives convened to this one spot to pass their harsh and unruley judgment on another species so they wouldn't have to worry about reprisal. Aslo I think I saw Amajinadad there.

Nothing strange to say? You're picture makes up for any discrepancy in that relm. Intoductions to a conversation can often be tedious even in internet social situation, but I have commited myself to breaking the ice. Hell, I like breaking the ice. Genuinely look forward to smashing it...Seriously, fuck ice.
