"Gay" is such a dainty, limp-wristed word. And it doesn't help to say that people who are not gay are "straight," which implies that gays are "bent," i.e., imperfect and abnormal. And "camp," "queer," "queen": who came up with these airy-fairy terms? Liberace?

No wonder it's so hard for dudes to come out!

What about updating the effeminate sounding "gay" with a word that echoes strength, confidence and bravery? Like, say, "Jedi"?

"Mom, Dad... I'm... a Jedi": yeah, way more accepting.
