As I sit here & watch you sleep, As you start to dream, Feelings I didn’t know I had starts to show, I can tell if your in a happy dream by the way you smile or what you say even if I don’t know what comes out of your mouth I still like to see if I can make the words out, It’s the bad dreams that make you sad when I see your tears it makes me mad, To know I have to wake you & I really don’t want to, But when I do I’m there to help you sleep again, By telling you its okay & stroking your hair tell you get back to that happy place, As I’m still sitting here looking at you & even talking to you, I know you hear me when I call you my sleeping beauty, I have kissed you not three but four time before thinking if the prince gives just one last kiss maybe her bad dreams will just go way & she can stay in her deep sleep, You’re so full of joy & you’re so sweet, You mean so much to me, As a friend I can tell you everything & you could tell me, Just some things I like to tell you when I sit and watch you sleep, Like how you’ll find that right one some day, Or how you did but you just don’t know it yet, There’s a lot I say to you as you sleep, A lot of it I couldn’t tell when you are awake because I would just forget it and lose it or the words wouldn’t or couldn’t come out right, It’s the eyes that let you know about people like me, They do tell a story when you look in them, They do let you know how someone is feeling, They do not lie, With you it’s the eyes but with me it’s watching you sleep & dream.
