And started hosting local parties at youth clubs, dancehalls etc, that’s what sparked it all off! At the age 18, having graduated from high school, the real world was now calling and this new found love for djing had to be temporarily put on the shelf. But after a couple of years of going to all the more popular Hiphop clubs in london and meeting various djs, he decided that he must resurrect his previous interest in the art form. So, after saving lots of money, buying a pair of turntables and a mixer, and then spending the next couple of years locked up in his room every night practicing, J Cue the dj was born! Having secured his first booking alongside London’s kiss fm Hiphop and rnb dj, Nicky Smoove, there was no looking back from this point on. After another couple of years of practice and playing at various parties around London, he began to become well known as a budding Hiphop dj, and became noticed by his peers in the game, He then began dropping some hot mixtapes on London’s streets, and working the London club scene at such prestigious venues like the End club, Ministry of sound, Glasshouse, Emporium, Mayfair club, Site, Coronet, Sound club, and many many others. J Cue was now becoming a well known figure in dj booths around London. Having developed a technical prowess for turntablism skillz that was that was fast becoming the envy of his dj peers, JCue’s reputation as a seriously skilled dj just kept growing! At this stage in his dj career he was approached by Urban Fresh fm, the same radio station where Tim Westwood(BBC radio 1, Big dawg Pitbulls, Def jam uk) started his career, to host his own sunday afternoon show. Having successfully held down his 3 hour afternoon slot for almost 2 years, along with various other London and uk residencies, J Cue decided it was time to travel!
