Something You Should Know About Me
MY UPDATES (4.27.09)
Well, it has been in the "talks" for a while now, but after a production meeting on Monday, it was officially announced that a sequel to the smash-hit comedy spoof 'Helloween' is going to happening! This has been in the works and rumored to be true since before production on the first film wrapped back in 2005. But this week, it is absolute - a sequel is happening and already set for an October 2009 release.
Director, Derek Hill, who co-wrote and directed the first film is back on board as a co-writer/director on the second film, and teaming up on the project are co-writer/producer Joshua Jones, and co-writer Andrea Wilker. At this point, everything is in the developmental stages and a script is being written. The fil is scheduled to shoot in both Northern Califirnia (San Francisco Bay Area) and southern California...Visalia is the main location and sets are already being created...casting will be done out of both Norther and Southern California, but principal casting will be out of the bay area.
Lead actress Therese Abalo has agreed to come back on to reprise her role as 'Laura', and no word yet on whether Melody Harris will return to play 'Lydia' again. Other talent from the first movie are returning for the sequel, such as Paul Williams, Jr., and Paul Tidd. And of course, the infamous Michelle Myers will be returning to the screen, and as you all know, she was put to rest in the first film, so this is going to be good!
The film takes place following the first movie, one year later, and the surviving characters all come together, with a new cast of hilarious characters, and they find themselves taking a secluded gataway for Halloween weekend to a remote tropical island resort. However, the thrills, chills and laughs pick up when the thought-to-be-dead Myers returns, and things get seam-splittingly crazy when the Grim Reaper is also after them, trying to tie up all loose ends. Now, it's double the killers, double the scares, double the spoofs, and double the laughs in this musical parody...that's right, 'Helloween 2' is going to be a full-blown musical!
We will be holding auditions and casting for "H2: The Sequel" in the next month or so, and will announce here FIRST the dates and days of the talent scout/auditions for the film. Filming is set to happen sometime between June-August 2009.
