Who am I?
I am an actor performing since the age of ten. I love to be on set. I have been acting in Hollywood since early 2003 and full time half a year later. The upcoming 2006 season after the summer hiatus break will be the start of my third year. And yes...I AM on imdb! David Tran imdb.com link
Achievements and proudest moments...
My most proudest accomplishment acting wise is being so successful in the relationships I build and the friends I make and get to work with along the way.
I am blessed to work about once a month on the Emmy award winning team of General Hospital as an Orderly. I've pretty much been in scenes with all the main characters who work or visit the hospital.
People ask me the most, "What movies have you been in?"
The answer is in my movies section. I try to be humble and not brag about them too much, but there they are.
Love of my Life...
I love doing movies, and it's where I want my career to eventually go. I want to be a big movie star. And I understand that it will cause me to give up mostly all of my privacy to fans, but I'm kinda doin' that already with everybody watching from outside the biz having an eye on you. So the practice is nice.
Other Tidbits and Trivia...
I misspell & typo often, IDK why. I have chronic "foot in mouth syndrome." It looks to be terminal=D. And I am a hopeless romantic. Yes, one of those.
Short term goals: To get on a motion picture shoot on a downtown LA rooftop at night.

My God, my parents (sort of), and my teachers and mentors along the way who've taught me to be the better person I am today.
Quotes of Inspiration from Others: Remember, rejection... is not failure. --Christian L. Scott
Ben Calder: So if you're scared, why do it?
Anna Foster: Because the things you're scared of are usually the most worthwhile. --Chasing Liberty, 2004
"Something you might want to consider is that: that safe life that loved ones lead, is probably, for them, a very good life. And, they want a very good life for you too, so, naturally, they would probably like you to follow, in a path that they're more familiar with.
But as for me, I'm glad to see you're out there chasing your dreams. And I hope you find them.
I think it's very important that young people, (and old too), go out there, and do whatever they can that makes them happy. Makes them feel needed. Makes them feel useful.
And I wish you all the luck in the world." --InspectorJury (Dave; Pine Village, Indiana)
"True happiness is far more important than income, IQ, any type of social status, or anything else in this life."

Personal quote: "I am obsessed with knowing who is who on set. Because in this town, the lowly extra could be your next boss, and the lowest PA can be the next big producer."

6/23/08 Update:
Bought a Panasonic PV-GS80 from Ebay. $102 including shipping. But seriously you get what you pay for. It's on clearance at Best Buy for $199. At least get the PV-GS85. It has a light and a USB port and an SD card slot. But don't tell my new cam that. At least a mediocre cam is better than no cam. :|
4/23/08 Update:
Well that camcorder I bought broke. It just won't power on anymore. Won't even eject the tape. Looking for another used one. Preferably around 3-4 years old. It sucks.
11/11/07 Update:
I bought that camcorder. I settled for a really basic Panasonic miniDV Palmcorder. It's a PV-GS12. Not Bad. Definitely saved me a few hundred from buying on eBay. I like it. It works. And it's another fun toy to get good quality out of.
5/29/07 Update: Still want that camcorder but for less than a few hundred or even a lot less so if I get it stolen while on set, I won't miss it much. Don't want a DVD unit anymore: the formatting of the discs and only 20 min of high quality recording per disk is annoying to me. A miniDV tape takes 60 min of data high quality.
Still want that 3 CCD chip cam. Probably go with a Panasonic with O.I.S. (Optical Stabilization)
Models looking at:
3CCDs w/ OIS: PV-GS320, PV-GS300, PV-GS250 (maybe likely units)
But I wouldn't be opposed to finding a REALLY great deal on a Sony with infrared nightshot mode. 5/16/07 Update: Bought a new external HD for a steal at about $0.33 USD per GB! Able to pay for somone to unlock my laptop drive's data to get info off of it and onto the external HD. Recovered the original system without saved data. Forgot what video ideas went with what video footage. 3/16/07 Update: Thank you to TonyStockert for recommending the Western Digital MyBook Pro w/ Firewire Now also looking for a good Hard Drive recovery specialist. My laptop's OS has crashed permanently. The drive is okay and the data seems to still be there, but I can't access the user profile to get the things in my documents. And... I am also looking to purchase a camcorder, probably DVD but maybe mini DV to make better youtube videos. I like Sony and Panasonic, and it definitely will be brand name. I want a stable image with great performance in low light. Don't know if I want a 3ccd or Sony's HAD 1ccd system. Would be nice, but not a dealbreaker: Would like a 20-30 Optical Zoom and a unit that doesn't pick up motor noise from the camcorder. A zoom mic is nice.but I don't know if I need that or even for that matter a microphone in jack ot even a hot shoe. I'd also like a headphone/ audio monitor jack. And I'd like firewire too. 1/24/07 Update: Request for help. In a sentence, indescribable. But... invalid_tag I love being on set. There is no greater feeling of comfort for me. It's so second nature and like a second home to be working with hundreds of other people all geared towards a common goal and beautiful final project. http://myspace.com/actordavidtran And the youtube: http://www.youtube.com/ACTORDAVIDTRAN Subscribe to my YouTube:
