R. Edward Forchion (b. July 23, 19xx), also known as NJWEEDMAN, is an African-American cannabis activist and a perennial candidate for various New Jersey elected offices. Most recently, Forchion ran for Governor of New Jersey in 2005, losing to Democratic candidate Jon Corzine. In 2006 he ran for US Senate. Forchion identifies himself as the founder of the Legalize Marijuana Party and campaigns primarily on the single issue of cannabis legalization. Forchion has done various stunts to bring attention to cannabis legalization, including smoking in Congressman Rob Andrews office, and the New Jersey legislature. Yet, his most famous smoke-out was in front of the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. (see: Liberty Bell Smoke-out video. - He once attempted to legally change his name to NJWeedman.com.
He currently is living in EXILE in the American city of Los Angeles, California. Making a living selling "marijuana" at a Medical Marijuana Dispensory, while running for the 3rd district Congressional seat in New Jersey. "I'm a New Jerseyian weedman say's, "but the last couple of times I ran for office in NJ I was a attacked by state officals, jailed, had my child taken from me and fired from my job." Forchion who once was a Political Prisoner of the State of New Jersey, said while he still wants to help change the marijuana laws in New Jersey it's become to dangerous for him there. So from California, over the Internet Forchion will run for Congressional office in New Jersey and as a write in for President.
