and in the end, it's not about who's skinnier, or who's prettier. it's about who can survive through all the name calling, and dirty looks. it's about who has the strength to not care. sometimes, all you can do is not think not wonder; not obsess; not imagine. Sometimes you have to just breathe. breathe in, breathe out. sometimes, there are things in our life that aren't meant to stay. sometimes, change may not be what we want. sometimes, change is what we need. and sometimes, saying goodbye is the hardest thing you think you'll ever have to do, but sometimes, saying hello again is the thing that breaks you down and makes you more vulnerable than you ever thought possible. sometimes, change is too much to bear. but most of the time, change is the only thing saving your life. Our society is judgemental. We are such a judgmental society. You see a really skinny girl and you think, oh she must be anorexic, or bulimic or something (but you don't know her story). You see a heavy person and you think they're lazy, or they eat away their problems (but you don't know their story). You see a girl with big boobs and obviously she's a slut, or a whore (but you don't know her story). You see someone with a lot of bracelets and you think, oh I bet they cut (but you don't know their story). There are so many things like this out there, and not once does anyone stop to think that they might be wrong. Rarely does anyone try to connect with these people, and, well.. shouldn't we? Shouldn't we talk to the boy who sits in the back of the class and never talks to anyone? Shouldn't we take the time to say hi to people in the hallway? If you're afraid of looking stupid, what's the point of doing anything? Shouldn't we make the effort, because, I mean, what if it was you? i myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions.
