About Me
My name's Brean, I'm 20 years-old and an Aries. My Myers-Briggs personality type is INTJ, aka "The Mastermind".
I am Here for:
Whatever.

Hobbies:
Comic books, horror movies, video games, reading, drawing, art, essays, research, studies. Don't get into things most other people like.

Favorite Movies:
My favorite genre is horror and I've seen a lot of shit. I can't kid, I recognize horror movies just by hearing two lines on a TV situated behind me all the time. I find horror to be the most beautiful, interesting, expressive, and superiorly diverse genre in film. My favorite horror movies are Phantasm, Jacob's Ladder, Dellamorte Dellamore/Cemetary Man, Dawn of the Dead 1978 (not that new 2004 trash, fuck whoever likes that garbage), Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Living Dead 1990, Zombi 2, Re-Animator, Dog Soldiers, House I/II/III/IV, Near Dark, Bad Taste, They Live, The Beyond, The Keep, City of the Living Dead, House by the Cemetery, Audition, among many others. I have a thing for Samurai/Kung-Fu/Wuxia movies as well... My favorite Kung-Fu/Wuxia/Asian movies are: Zeiram, R-Point, "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence", Samurai Fiction, Warriors of Heaven and Earth, Burst City, Battlefield Baseball, Drunken Master, Electric Dragon: 80.000v, Musa, Tetsuo: The Iron Man, Versus, Ichi the Killer/Ichi-One/Ichi Episode Zero, Master of the Flying Guillotine Vs. The One-Armed Boxer, Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky, Gozu, The Super Infra-Man and Battle Royale (Much better as a book, by the way). I also enjoy Barbarian movies, such as Conan The Barbarian, Conan the Destroyer, Fire and Ice, The Beastmaster, etc. I've made a living out of watching DVDs and own a good deal of movies (growing weekly) in my collection, all of which are horror, sci-fi, fighting/action, comedy or documentary.

Favorite TV Shows:
Television today lacks any sort of substance. I don't like watching "people being people" for entertainment. That's what getting stabbed by a serial killer or eaten by a monster is for. My regular television viewing died with the end of Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and Quantum Leap. Occasionally it rises from the grave and hungers for Mythbusters, Scrubs, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Seinfeld, Good Times, Sanford and Son and Tales from the Darkside/Twilight Zone reruns. I do enjoy anime, but really only Gundam and the ultra-violent series, like Bio-Booster Armor: Guyver, Fist of the Northstar and Riki-Oh.

Favorite Music:
Musically I'm into classical, electronic, acid/horrorcore, electro, and movie soundtracks. I listen to anything from Alice Cooper, GUITAR WOLF!, Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, Peelander-Z, Goblin, Danzig, The Police way over to Wu-Tang Clan, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Aesop Rock, Ultramagnetic MCs, Dr.Octagon, Kool Keith, House of Krazees, 2 Krazie Devils, Halfbreed, V-Sinizter, Twiztid, ICP, Tech N9ne, Esham the Unholy, Immortal Technique, Ebola Virus and Jumpsteady. I also like Tangerine Dream, NEU!, Laibach, Gary Numan, Bill Nelson, The Human League, New Musik, Fad Gadget, Kraftwerk, Jan Hammer, Ultravox, Japan, Space, Mark Shreeve, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yukihiro Takashi, Haruomi Hosono, and Yellow Magic Orchestra. I have a special place in my brain for classical music and movie composers like Myrow, Holst, Vangelis, Frizzi, Simonetti, Carpenter, Horner, Grainer, Howard, Herrmann, Poledouris, Honogawa, (Keiichi) Suzuki, Hotei and Ifukube.

Favorite Books:
H.P. Lovecraft is one of my favorite authors. I've read all of his stories, a few of his personal letters and most of his essays. All of his writing is amazing; the man was truly before his own and any time since. He died too young, but I'm grateful for the life he lived and the work he managed to produce before his passing. My other favorite author is Robert E. Howard, creator of the Conan series. I was delighted when I found out that Conan was part of the Cthulhu mythos that Lovecraft created, and shocked when I discovered that Howard and Lovecraft corresponded with one another in their lives and writing careers. Howard, much like Lovecraft, was before his time and died too early in his life when he committed suicide. Looking at the wonderful and magnificent lands in his writings, I imagine Howard wanted dearly to escape his barren home of Texas and transcend to somewhere better. I hope he did. I also enjoy cyber-punk, various horror genres, science fiction, Aliens, Predator, etc. Comic books ranging in independent brands, a ton of Marvel (since I was a child), to a few certain manga series (Shonen Jump monthly, Lone Wolf and Cub, Gyo, The Guyver, Koroshiya 1/Ichi the Killer, Akira). I also enjoy all manga from Tezuka Ozamu (Hitler, Buddha) and Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira/Domu: A Child's Story/Flower/Farewell to Weapons/Memories/etc.) Mostly horror and sci-fi are the genres I stick to in non-Marvel comics, examples ranging from: Y the Last Man, Ex Machina, Clive Barker adaptations, The Keep, The Thing from Another World adaptations (continuing John Carpenter's remake of The Thing in other words), Army of Darkness/Evil Dead series (there are quite a few entires, even Ash Vs. the Re-Animator), numerous H.P. Lovecraft adaptations (544 MBs last I checked), Miracleman, Joe R. Lansdale adaptations, The Walking Dead, multiple zombie/living dead series (1.35 GB at this point), Conan the Barbarian adaptations (both Marvel and Dark Horse), most of Steve Niles work, the I Am Legend adaptation, Will Eisner's works... And much much much more, believe it. I love Hellboy and all of Mignola's work, as well. (Have the entire Hellboy series, waiting for it to continue later this year). For my own learning, I've read the works of Miyamoto Musashi. Musashi was the greatest warrior of Japan's samurai era. He was and still is the most skilled swordsman to have walked the Earth. As for my all time favorite book, I'd have to choose The Keep by F. Paul Wilson.

I Love:
Intelligence, wit, fervor

I Hate:
Crazy people, inabilities to communicate, stubbornest, issues

Radio Technopolis - ラジオ テクノポリス --- The Terminus of Impossible Sound --- Hosted By Glaeken

I use this place to play music online for my friends. You're welcome to listen. It'll be anything from Japanese electropop, deadwave, noise, progressive, and soundtracks to European electropop, industrial and progressive. I also throw in some electro/breakbeat (breakdance music) from the 80's every now and then.Maybe even some 70's/80's progressive music from Europe, like Goblin.

I also play Loveline during the early and late hours of the day, when I'm playing MMO's. Loveline is another great radio show, and I only play shows from the years with Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew.

I may also play Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell/George Noory/Ian Punnet if the Loveline source is down. The show covers paranormal/conspiracy subjects. Listen to the crazy folks and enjoy the ghost stories.

Feel free to come in and chat if you want to know what's playing. I'm also pretty good at finding music along the lines of what I like.

To see what I just played go here: http://www.last.fm/user/Monkey%20Mech%20X/

If you add me, please send a message detailing yourself.
