Ready the Reaping
Ready the Reaping started when Alex and James decided to make the epic move to create a band. Trying to start one years earlier, they were split up for a couple years and reunited at a friends graduation party. Since then they have come back, with new styles of music. They have been working on creating a sound that breeds Blessthefall, Oh Sleeper,and Motionless In White, with a small taste of electronica. But the most important part of RtR is its beliefs and name. "Ready the Reaping" is talking about when Jesus Christ, God's Son, comes back to "reap" His faithful followers. RtR's purpose is to get the lost "ready" for "the reaping". In other words, they are missionaries in what they do. They are not afraid to talk about their faith. Their goal is that, if Jesus were to come back now, many people would be taken into Heaven because of what they sang.
"Its really hard, because, by being a Christian band we're asking for trouble. In other countries missionaries are slaughtered for their work, literally. I just want to put my time in, in a way that people love and understand: through music. It's God's work, and we are showing the lost that being Christian doesnt mean you must only listen to hymm music and yell 'amen!' every minute. God's people can listen to the most brutal genres too. Look at The Chariot. Its all about the lyrics and mission." - Alex.
As also noted by former backup guitarist/vocalist, Kristin: "Music has changed my life in so many ways. It's something I use to be more inventive, it's something I go to when I'm upset and having a bad day. Music gives me a rush as I play in front of others. And music gives me something to work on and grow in."
Since RtR has been started, they have tried many different people, and clung to the ones who show true compassion and commitment. Lead guitarist, James, left for college, almost ending the band. But they are not easy at falling. They have Richie Ares, drummer of Amedeus, helping with writing lyrics. Also, Curtis Price was welcomed into the band and has been a lifesaver. Timm Stevenson replaced Kristin at the last moment and basically saved RtR. He has been amazing, and will continue to show his colors.

Ready the Reaping is still in the process of writing music. Between work, school, and other activities, it is a challenge to find the time. They know they have loving supporting fans however, and will not give up until they are satisfied, however long it takes. Although they aren't much at the moment, they will hopefully arise from the ashes and join the screaming war in the near future.

We can take a deep breath and happily tell you that we have warmly accepted Seth Allen (former, Delivered From Darkness) and Seth Schaper into the band for screaming and singing vocals. We all met up and it's clear that they are very passionate about music, and want to make it happen. So give them a warm welcome. ~~~~~~We are currently writing new stuff, with the hopes of playing shows this summer. No guarantees about the shows, but it's the plan. It's all in God's hands, and we trust Him to take us where He wants it. We have been blest SO much, we are excited to see where we will go next! ~~~~~~
