Haidaboy

Hello! my name's Doug, and I'm a native american/mexican halfbreed (EDIT: apparently...I'm not half mexican. Not quite sure what the other half is now. Yeah, I know, weird), born and raised in Washington state. I play a decent game of chess; I like video games, I'm even pretty good at a few of them; I like anime and manga; I like to read a good novel every now and then; and, pretty obviously, I like to long onto the computer and chat! Aforementioned nerdy activities aside, I wouldn't say that I fit the "glasses-clad dork completely lacking in social skills" stereotype. That's what contacts are for! ^.^ Anyway, I also enjoy swimming at the lake when it's warm out (a little rare where I'm from), partying (a little odd considering I don't drink or smoke), and I've practiced a few martial arts. I've studied karate, tae kwon do, and capoeira, earning a yellow belt in the first two, and reaching approximately the same skill level in the last (they don't do belts where I studied that). I've never had any formal weapon instruction, but I like to sword fight for fun whenever I get the chance with boken (wooden swords). Recent correction: I just joined the kendo club at UW. So booya, I'm getting taught swordy stuff I can play the piano, though since I haven't practiced in forever, I probably suck pretty bad by now. I can play noted percussion instruments (bells, xylophone, marimba, that sort of thing), and a little bit of drum set. Alright, with hobbies out of the way, I guess it's time to describe myself as a person... I'd say I'm honest, intelligent, friendly, and caring, with a smartass sense of humor. On the negative side, I'm a total slacker, terrible at planning, and perpetually late, though I suppose those are all facets of the same issue. I can be a bit of a jerk when I'm in a bad mood, but I don't get mad at people easily. Alright, well, that about covers it I suppose? I've never been much good at self-description.
