I dreamed of blue children and wild gardens. Flowers made of moonbeams and old-man speech mixed into the wind like records of high-quality production. Silver water and purple clouds that I could eat and feed on. Thats the world I was always lookig for. I just had to keep believeing it, keep dreaming it, and someday id find myself there for real. Id travel by faith alone. Id travel through insanity. Id live a beggars life. And it would all be worth it because the reward was golden feilds and an army of rats parading behind the music my flute made as I piped along.
Its the kind of dream thats found in the spirals of smoke beneath the cracks in the sidewalk. It leaves you floating like a god, above the world on the back of some giant turtle with the gift of flight. One day ill wake up in a shanty slum beneath an overpass. The sound of the highway ringing in my ears. The doll with white claws cuddled in my arms. Then ill know im there because thats where this dream begins.
