What is a Group?

A Stickam Group allows any user to create a watering hole for members to talk about your favorite blog, celebrity, games, movies, music, organizations, radio stations, and schools. The user who creates a group becomes the owner and has control over the content and subject matter discussed in the group. The owner can grant other members moderator powers in that group The user who creates the room becomes the room host. The host has control over the content and subject matter discussed in the room and can grant other users moderator powers in that room. Please keep in mind you are responsible for your actions while using Stickam Groups.

How do I create a Group?

  1. Click here to create a group
  2. Click on the “Start a Group” button
  3. Fill out the New Group Form:
    • Name - The name of your Group. Please keep in mind that your group name is permanent and offensive words are restricted.
    • Privacy - Choose whether you would like your Group to be Public, Private, or Secret. A public group is open to all members who want to join. A private group is like the name suggests, is private and members must request to join your group. A secret group is completely exclusive and this group is unlisted. The only way a member can join a secret group is to be invited by the group owner.
    • Category - Choose which category your group belongs in. This can be edited later if you would like to change it.
    • Description - Add a description to inform members what your Group is all about
    • Auto Approve Comments - If you click the “Yes” radio button comments posted by other members of your group will be published automatically onto your group profile. If you would like to approve all comments before they are published, please click the “No” radio button. All comments will be filtered through you and must have your stamp of approval before being published onto the group profile page.
    • Tags - Your tags should be relevant to your group. you can add multiple tags by using a comma inbetween each tag.

How do I invite other members to join my Group?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on "My Groups"
  3. Your 'Groups' category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Invitations”
  4. Type the name of the user you would like to invite. Remember to type the username of the member and not the display name of the member, otherwise you might invite the wrong Stickam user.
  5. Type a message, something like a warm greeting and inform the user what your group is all about.
  6. When you’re all finished click on the “Submit” button

How do I cancel invitations I already sent out to members?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on "My Groups"
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Invitations”
  4. From there please click on the "Pending Invites" tab
  5. You will see a list of members you have invited, but are awaiting a response; please check the member the box of the member you wish to cancel your invite from
  6. Then click on the "Cancel Invitation" button

How do I edit my Groups?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “My Groups”
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Account”
  4. From here you will be able to edit the different Groups you have created.

    If the group you see is not the one you want to edit then click on the drop down at the top right corner of the page and then select the Group you would like to edit.

    You will then be able to edit the following:
    • Category - Choose which category your group belongs in. This can be edited later if you would like to change it.

    • New Comment Notification - If you would like to receive notifications whenever a new comment is posted onto your Group profile page click on the "Yes" radio button.

    • Account Status - If you would like to delete your Group you can do so here, but be sure this is what you want.

How do I Design my Group Profile?

How do I change my Groups Profile colors?
  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “Groups”
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Profile Design”
  4. Select the property you would like to change
  5. Select a color on the color wheel according to the corresponding property.
  6. Click on “Save” If you would like to revert your Group Profile Design back to its default settings please select the Grey theme which is second to the left side of the themes and then click on the “Save” button.

How do I upload a Group Profile Banner?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “My Groups”
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Profile Design”
  4. Click on “Browse” under My Profile Banner and then select your banner from your Computer
  5. Click Open
  6. Press “Upload”

How do I set Profile Background?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “My Groups”
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Profile Design”
  4. Click on “Browse” under Group Background and then select an image from your Computer
  5. Click Open
  6. Press “Upload”

How do I ban members from my Group?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “My Groups”
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Profile Design”
    Make sure that the group on your screen is the group you want to ban a member from. If the current group is not correct then click on the drop down at the top right corner of the page and then select the Group you would like to edit
  4. Under “Ban Stickam Members” type the username of the member.
  5. Then click the "Ban" button
    All the members that you have banned will be displayed by clicking on the the “Banned Users” tab.

How do I unban members from my Group?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “My Groups”
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Banned Users”

  4. Click on the "Banned Users" tab.
  5. Locate the check box on the top left side of the member’s thumbnail image and check the boxes of the members you want to un-ban.
  6. Click on the “Un-Ban Member” button

How do I approve my Group comments?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “My Groups”
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Comments”
  4. Click on the “Pending” tab located at the top of the page
  5. Check the boxes beside the comments you would like to approve
  6. To select all comments check the box located right next to the words “From”
  7. Click on the “Approve Comments” button

How do I delete comments from my Group?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “My Groups”
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Comments”

    Make sure that the group on your screen is the group you want to delete comments from. If the current group is not correct then click on the drop down at the top right corner of the page and then select the Group you would like to edit. To select all comments check the box located right next to the words “From”

  4. Check the boxes of the comments you would like to delete
  5. Click on the “Delete Comments” button

How do I accept a request to join my Group?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “My Groups”
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Member Requests”
    Make sure that the group on your screen is the group you want to approve comments from. If the current group is not correct then click on the drop down at the top right corner of the page and then select the Group you would like to edit
  4. Select the check box beside the member(s) you wish to approve (To select all members check the box located right next to the words “From”)
  5. Click on the “Approve” button

How do I leave a Group?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “My Groups”
  3. From there you can click on the “Leave” button for any groups you wish to leave.
  4. A pop-up will appear asking if you are sure you want to leave, click on the “Okay” button if you are sure you want to leave the group.

How do I add Moderators?

  1. Click on the down arrow located at the top the page right next to the “Go Live” button
  2. Click on “My Groups”
  3. Your ‘Groups’ category should have expanded on the left side; click on “Members”

    Of course, in order to add moderators you are required to first have members in your Group.

  4. Check on all the boxes on the top left corner of the members’ profile thumbnail who you would like to turn into a moderator
  5. Click on the “Make Moderator” button
  6. Additionally if you would like to un-mod one of your moderators, simply click on the “Moderators” button
  7. Check on all the boxes on the top left corner of the members’ profile thumbnail who you would like to un-moderator
  8. Then you can un-mod that member by clicking on the “Make Member” button. You can also remove them from your Group by clicking on the “Remove From Group” button. If you want to ban them from your Group, you can do so by clicking on the “Ban From Group” button.

How do I embed a Group Chat Player?

  1. Go to the URL of your Groups Profile page
  2. Click on the Embed Player icon, beneath the “Mute All” button, located on the right side of the Group Chat Player
  3. Select the desired size of your Player
    Small - 661X454
    Medium - 951X590
    Large - 1238X760
  4. Then click on the "Copy" button
  5. Go to the site you want to embed your Group Chat player on
    Remember to read the TOS of the website you are embedding the player to and verify that the site enables flash and HTML embed codes
  6. With your mouse, right click on the page and click on “Paste”
  7. Save/Publish the page when you are done
