We encourage our members and visitors of our site to adhere to the same safety precautions one would have when dealing with the internet in general.
1. Under no circumstances should you ever give out
your personal information such as your real name, home address, school name, home or cell phone number(s), etc. Do not tell people where you will be or what you will be doing, especially in a chat room where you may be providing that information to someone you did not intend to meet.
2. Be skeptical of
what other members tell you such as who they say they are.
3. Never meet
people you met on-line alone.
4. Never reply
to someone who has made you feel uncomfortable or scared. Just click the user icon and select “Ignore User” (You will not see or hear the user), “Kick” (Kicks the user out of your host chat for 1 hour), or “Ban” (The user can not contact you again). Otherwise, you can set up a “Private Room” under the Preference button on the chat screen, or create your own private chat room with a secret password.
5. If you find a suspicious user,
please contact abuse@stickam.com immediately and provide the username, date/time, chat conversation and screenshot of the user.
Reporting Certain Abuse to Law Enforcement
The Stickam service is intended for use by a general audience including children as young as 14 years of age. Sexually explicit content is strictly prohibited on this website. The traffic data and personal information of Stickam Members who Post sexually explicit material may be reported to law enforcement authorities for prosecution under applicable criminal laws. AVC fully complies with the Congressional mandate of 42 U.S.C. § 13032, which requires us to report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the facts and circumstances relating to sexually explicit content and other criminal offenses involving children under the age of 18 which appears on Stickam. This includes, but is not limited to, the Posting of sexually explicit material, (including without limitation, photos, videos, and live Webcasts) depicting children under the age of 18.
Other types of abuse and violations of our Terms of Service that may compromise the safety of our members which do not fall within the Congressional mandate of 42 U.S.C. § 13032 may be reported to local, national, or international law enforcement agencies in cooperation with the Virtual Global Taskforce.
