Born Kareem Simmons, a New Jersey native. Lord Kay was inspired by music in 1998, sitting in on his uncles recording sessions. As his uncle co-produced various hits for artists such as KRS-ONE and WU-Tang Clan member Rza. After being inspired by the magic his uncle and clients created right before kays eyes. Lord Kay Slowly but shortly perfected his passion for music. Basically taking everything he had learned by ears and eyes, he began to play the piano. Attemping to make music of his own. Ever since then, music has been a drug to Lord Kay. It has impacted his life dramaticlly. Keeping him out of trouble, turning negitive influences into positive creations.


By late 1999, early 2000, music production became second nature to Lord Kay. Producing up to 6 beats/instrumentals a day,not sleeping for days at a time or eatting for hours sometimes. Making Sound was this kids life. Missing the summer of 2000. There was no partying, no hanging out with friends, no girlfriends. Lord Kay Isolated himself from social life. To perfect his art and love for music. By 2001, Lord Kay felt his production was ready to be sold to independent labels and artist. The beats were selling but not how Lord Kay had planned. It was simple to see that artist and labels really could'nt get the full effect of a beat with no song or vocals layed to it. After feeling like his career as a music producer, was at a stand still. Lord Kay began writing hooks/chorus to his musical creations. What had started as writing and laying hooks to his music to showcase his beats to customers. Gave him the urge to began writing and producing songs his self.

By 2002, Lord Kay was one of the youngest most focused producers in the Tri-State area. If Lord Kay wasnt getting into trouble, you would have found in the studio working on new tracks. More beats, more hooks, more sells!!! Lord Kay wasnt satisfied nor happy with selling his art(music). From that time in his life and on. Lord Kay made a promise to hiself to become his own artist and producer. Years went on as Lord Kay put himself in his own artist developement Program, made by himself, with himself, for himself. To prepare himself for what today is know as the "Music Industry". Lord Kay skills at song writing and producing are at a professional level.
