PANG’s talent was discovered by the pioneer of reggae music in Japan, NAHKI.
Since the major debut in 2003, PANG has released 2 albums.
PANG is a brilliant reggae singer with unique & distinctive lyrics and absolutely enchanting & spirited voice.
August 2005, she was chosen as the artist to sing the theme track for the
Japanse version of Dreamworks’ animation movie – [Madagascar] –
and became the first Japanese artist to be appointed by Dreamworks’ movie.
PANG is certainly one of the most potential artists who will make significant marks
in Japan’s raggae music scene.

日本におけるレゲエミュージックのパイオニア、NAHKIによってその才能が発掘され2003年にメジャーデビュー。
以来、現在までにアルバム2枚を発表。
オリジナリティ溢れる独特な歌詞の世界と、魂を震わす歌声が魅力のレゲエシンガー。
2005年8月には、アメリカのドリームワークス制作によるアニメーション映画「マダガスカル」の日本版イメージソングに、
国内アーティストとして初めて起用されるなど活動の幅も広がりをみせてきている。
今後もっとも飛躍が期待されるレゲエアーティストの一人。

『アメリカで活躍する日本人は、何も野球選手だけでは無い。』

　 現地時間21日午後9時（日本時間22日午前11時）、ニューヨークのCRASH
MANSIONにて 開催されたNAHKI主催の「JAPANESE REGGAE LIVE in NEW YORK」
に、日本代表として今 年の夏にオリコンアルバムチャートで1位を獲得した
MEGARYU、そしてレーベルメイト の女性レゲエシンガーPANGが出演。NAHKIと
も古くから親交が深いJERRY HARRISら大物 レゲエミュージシャンらをバック
バンドに従え、「夢のかけら」「まっかっか」 「SUNSHINE」の3曲を熱唱した
MEGARYU。「音楽に国境は無い」という彼らの言葉通 り、言葉の壁を越えて、
持ち前の息の合ったナイスコンビネーションを披露。今年の 夏、日本列島を
震撼させた彼らの“我流旋風”が、ここニューヨークにも上陸。会場 を訪れ
たオーディエンスを熱狂の渦に巻き込んだ。対してPANGは、トレードマークの
ドレッドヘアをバッサリとニューヨークで切り落とし、金髪ベリーショートの
ヘアー スタイルで登場。日本から駆け付けたファンを驚かせた。「smile」な
どのオリジナル 曲に加え、ビートルズのカヴァーでも有名な「TWIST&SHOUT」
をレゲエアレンジで歌 い、その力強い歌声と貫禄あるステージングを地元ニ
ューヨーカーにもアピール。共 に来春以降リリース予定の新作、そして今後
の活躍にもますます期待が高まる、最高 の一夜となった。
