QUOTES
Abraham Lincoln
[1809-1865] American president

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Force is all-conquering, but its victories are short-lived.

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

"The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma."
Joseph Lewis quoting Lincoln in a 1924 speech in New York

"My earlier views of the unsoundness of the Christian scheme of salvation and the human origin of the scriptures have become clearer and stronger with advancing years, and I see no reason for thinking I shall ever change them."
Lincoln in a letter to Judge J.S. Wakefield, after the death of Willie Lincoln

"It will not do to investigate the subject of religion too closely, as it is apt to lead to Infidelity."
Manford's Magazine, quoted from The Religious Beliefs of Our Presidents by Franklin Steiner, p. 144.

In 2000 Years of Disbelief by James A. Haught, Lincoln is mentioned on pages 125 through 127. From the material presented it would seem that Lincoln as a young man was an avid anti-christian and most likely an atheist. In his later years, he came to believe in God, but still was anti-religious in the sense that he rejected organized religion. Some selections from Haught: John T. Stuart, Lincoln's first law partner: "He was an avowed and open infidel, and sometimes bordered on Atheism...He went further against Christian beliefs and doctrines and principles than any man I ever heard."

Greetings to all at large ...

JESUS CAMP DESTROYED ! Becky Fischer's torture camp for christian kids has been disoved. Bechy vows to continue her indoctrinations however.

Live Radio that plays on the front page of Stickam banned me. Not sure if it was the questions as to what make and model of mixers she used or if was that I am an Atheist. Maybe its top secret intel on what mixers they use, or maybe she was afraid of the monkey. Could it be she was a faither and hated Atheists ? I dont know, ask her and tell me what she says.

OLD NEWS BRIAN FLEMMING WAS ON AT 8PM CST 6PM PT FRIDAY MAR 30 jump in and say hi We plan to do a belated Happy Birthday wish to Prof Dawkins, the feline like Atheists are hard to round up but we've finally done it to wish a Happy birthday to one of the most outspoken writers of our time

OLD NEWS
Dear Secular Coalition activist, This coming Monday, March 12 the Secular Coalition for America will make a historic announcement: a member of Congress has agreed to be identified with our community.

This ground-breaking release is the much-anticipated outcome of a recent contest we initiated to seek the identity of the highest level openly nontheistic elected official. The purpose of the contest was to explore visibility problems for nontheists in public service.

Please visit our Web site at http://www.secular.or... for background and more information on our upcoming announcement ... and please tell your friends about the momentous day ahead for nontheistic Americans.

Best wishes,

The Secular Coalition for America http://secular.org...

I TALKED TO GOD ! Find the link to the chat at my site www.atheistatlarge.org

I belong to several Atheist groups, a few online and ones based in RL in the Chicagoland area. I found them through www.meetup.com A great way to search your area for people with the same interests as you .

I'm building the new website at http://www.atheistatlarge.org stop by and watch it progress.
CHAT- At this time the chat is set up for anyone to go in and hang out, people do come in and out all day and night. Some really stupid people with BS to say, others looking for a debate, so join in and hang out. Ill be starting a regular show Sunday Mar 11 at 11am cst. It will consist of audio off the net and maybe some vids. Also readings from Evolution vs Creationism.

I'll be putting on an Atheist Chat as a new STICKAM RADIO STATION, almost every day, looking to theist and Atheist alike to discuss the topics at hand ... mostly to show where the bible and faith fails its believers. I am hoping that this will expand as time goes on and more people find the chat. Just jump in and start debating the issues with anyone else in the rooms, when they other stations are down, mine should be up for you to just congregate in. JUST GOT My ZR200 back from the shop. Already made a vid for You Tube and here on STICKAM, I'm just editing it now. Since Ive never edited a vid before, it might take me a couple days. Someone also has promised me a webcam however, It's in the mail ...

In one of the Chicago Atheist groups, we started to put together a cable access show to be broadcast vs the faither ministries that air on the public access channels. Were hoping to put our show together and then help the suburban areas to do the same. Although public access isnt the most dramatic nor widly seen media outlet, Im sure it will do just fine. We can get training from the cable station and use their equipment, take stuff out on the road etc ... it should be fun, and a great way to learn what we need to learn ...

I found STICKAM in late Jan of 07, I think its a great way to link the internet with cable access. Ill be putting on internet shows and then airing them on cable, when slots become available.. would be great to get them to show on Sunday mornings.
In addition a couple other Atheist organizations have promised professionaly done tapes in the format we need for the cable company, all we need is a little edit here and there. These will also be broadcast on the internet.

The cable company also has the ability to do live call in shows, these we hope to put on the internet live as well using STICKAM.

Dont forget now, jump in the rooms at any time, either through here or the STICKAM CHAT room, Atheist@Large, remember you too can be an Atheist @ Large !
,br> Signing off for now, but know that the Atheist at Large is there to help you ...

Al'Quada trained in a grounded 747 North of Bagdad for the 9/11 attack, there were at least 4 Al'Quada training camps in Iraq in addition to the plane.

"Religion never brings rage to suicide"
Ok which planet are you on ?

Religions dictate to sacrifice yourself, possessions, family to fight for the cause of their religion. That is suicidal in its nature.

The plane that hit dirt had open cell phones that heard the terrorists yelling their god was great, this can be attributed to suicidal acts preformed time and time again by muslims doing things to promote islam, its way and its ideology.
The men had ties to islamic indoctinations before the deed, the cells themselves were from islamic origins and keep to the islamic structure of proceedures put in place. The leaders of the cells, of the organizations were islamic, the teachings were islamic. Now just because you say "islam doesnt teach these things" well you're wrong, it does. All you need to do is read the koran with open eyes.

So it was RELIGION that drove those men to their suicides, plan and simple. You can try and deny the truths of things, but all things come to an end, lies will be found out and exposed if not useful by those that expose them.
Brother...

Religion never brings the rage to suicide, it's the people that make things up and that brings the rage, people. You, yourself, an atheist seems to support the war on Iraq right? Well, due to your claims, those people are following their religion but that's not the case, people can use the label religion and implement it to create a cause. If you can prove to me that Al Qaeda was inspired by religious teachings to take out the towers, i will buy everything you say, so i challenge you, to prove to me that these killers in general are inspired by religion itself to kill people.

kingbruno, Im the idiot lol You're BULLSHIT smells so bad I can smell you from here. It was RAGE that comes from RELIGION that drove the minds that did 9/11, nothing else could get a man to kill himself without personal tragedy. However there were up to 9 teams that morning, and only 4 got through, only RELIGION would drive that many people to suicide.
