Farmers took refuge on Vancouver island .One in particular had a education in botany and the money to
travel and brought back from Africa, Europe and far reaches of the globe such strains as are now
known as BC strains Burmese ,Swazi . These guerilla farmers formed a family farm community
shared information and experience and raised their children in the art of growing .
Where as before Mexican type weed would come packed in blocks most of the THC and healing
cannabinoids destroyed in how it was handled and “cured “,herb that was grown inexpertly
.These farmers and scientists and experience experts who couldn’t support their families by
legally working in Canada became so talented at the craft that they attracted the attention of
hightimes and in 1997 published a story on BC ‘s Sea of Green.
It was truly a family run cottage industry paying taxes into the economy of the island with
everyone from the donut shop owner to the hamburger vendor and gas station attendant and
neighbourhood hockey team benefiting .Amazingly or not landlords who are tired of sneaky
tenants filling their basements with dirt have even asked Mr. D if he would install his clean
system in their houses pay the rent and maintain the property as opposed to having to evict and
renovate after a bunch of yahoos.
Flash knew next nothing about how to grow cannabis himself not even enough to ask intelligent
questions but he knew his medicine and when toured the likes of KD rhino Burmese sunshine he
knew this was the best he’d ever seen better than the quality of what’s available at the BC
compassion club ( www.thecompassionclub.org ) .
them up .Yield wasn’t everything to him ,smaller buds were sometimes better depending on the
strains. More than anything else it had to be good medicine it had to work for his wife and all the
other patients he helped
who had access to it .
