American Gods by Neil Gaiman; Dreaming of Babylon by Richard Brautigan; Idoru by William Gibson; Catcher in the Rye - I had it for homework. Thought it would be a drag. Loved it. Now I'm reading a lot of classics and loving them. The Sun Also Rises, by Hemmingway - Great! And very funny once you get into the rhythm of his dry humor. Steinbeck - The Grapes of Wrath - wow, what an adventure.
