How can I even begin to write an autobiography? I was born in Sacramento, CA on July 10, 1987. There isn't much to say about my childhood, except that I survived, and I discovered my true self. My interactions with my peers were minimal; I included older church folk and teachers in my social circle. High school was a major transition in my life, as it is for many individuals. I resolved at this point to just be my true self, and accept the consequences of that decision. This philosophy evolved throughout those four years, and greatly affected my choices regarding my future. While music was definitely a passion, and the prospect of a music career always lingered in the back of my head, it never seemed a true possibility, because I was brought up to be practical and academic. My junior year of high school, I began to push my original idea of being a doctor out of my head, and focus more on a music career. By this time, my experiences and wisdom taught me that one of the most important things in life is to follow one's true essence, and as I continued to discover myself, I realized that to do this I needed to study music. It was a drastic change in my life path, but since then many signs have confirmed that I made the right choice. I am currently in my second year of studying voice at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA (in the San Francisco Bay Area), under the instruction of tenor Eric Morris, who is the lead tenor in the a cappella group The EDLOS. I have discovered so many styles of music, and I am now completely rethinking my musical direction. Currently, I desire a career as a Classical Crossover musician (Josh Groban-esque), but also hold a passion for church music, art songs (esp. Samuel Barber at the moment), Celtic music, a cappella music, and cabaret (of various types, including what is classified as Punk/Dark Cabaret). I have great hopes for my future as a musician in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Josh Groban gave me the courage to follow my dreams, and take the path that is compatible with my true nature, and now I find myself as a Vocal Performance major with the hope of singing with Josh one day. He got me this far ... now let's see how far I can take myself!

Oh gosh, too many to list. Shakespeare is pretty tip top at the moment. Ooo, I always recommend "Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers" by Mary Roach. Fascinating. And Rumi ... now THAT's poetry. Enlightening.
