Something You Should Know About Me
What in the hell am I supposed to put here? This is kind of awkward because one of my goals in life is to simplify the shit out of my life. I've come to the realization that 95% of our lives are complete bullshit and I wish I new this earlier. The old parable The Fisherman comes to mind:
--------------------------------
One day a fisherman was lying on a beautiful beach, with his fishing pole propped up in the sand and his solitary line cast out into the sparkling blue surf. He was enjoying the warmth of the afternoon sun and the hope of catching a fish.
About that time, a businessman came walking down the beach trying to relieve some of the stress of his workday. He noticed the fisherman sitting on the beach and decided to find out why this fisherman was fishing instead of working hard to make a living for himself and his family.
"You're not going to catch many fish that way," said the businessman, "You should be working harder rather than lying on the beach!"
The fisherman looked up, smiled and replied, "And what will my reward be?"
"Well, you can get bigger nets and catch more fish!" was the businessman's answer.
"And then what will my reward be?" asked the fisherman, still smiling.
The businessman replied, "You will make money and you'll be able to buy a boat, which will then result in larger catches of fish!"
"And then what will my reward be?" asked the fisherman again.
The businessman was beginning to get a little irritated with the fisherman's questions. "You can buy a bigger boat, and hire some people to work for you!" he said.
"And then what will my reward be?"
The businessman was getting angry. "Don't you understand? You can build up a fleet of fishing boats, sail all over the world, and let your employees catch fish for you!"
Once again the fisherman asked, "And then what will my reward be?"
The businessman was red with rage and shouted at the fisherman, "Don't you understand that you can become so rich that you will never have to work for your living again! You can spend all the rest of your days sitting on this beach, looking at the sunset. You won't have a care in the world!"
The fisherman, still smiling, looked up and said, "And what do you think I'm doing right now?"

True freedom is so hard to come by because we're distracted by consumerist crap we think we have to buy and regulation we consent to jump through. We mortgage our houses and run up debt on crap to the point we become slaves to our wants and our needs remain unfulfilled. Then one day you get a little spark of that freedom fire and decide you'd like to have a party with all your friends and the cops show up and cite you for a noise disturbance. The whole system is set up to keep you fat and content and not to ask too many questions or get to rowdy.
Like Doug Stanhope says:
"You're born absolutely free except laws of nature. If you drink too much you'll get drunk, that's a law. If you get old you die, that's a law...these are the only laws you're born with and any government just fucks you out of that type of freedom...You're not free. You need a diploma in this country to cut hair. They say if you give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. But if you teach a man to fish...then he has to get a fishing license. But he doesn't have any money, so he has to get a job and enter the social security system. And he has to file taxes, and you're gonna audit the poor son of a bitch because he's not really good at math. You pull the IRS van up to his house and take everything. You take his velvet Elvis and his toothbrush and his penis pump and that all goes up for auction with the burden of proof on you because you forgot to carry the 1. All because you wanted to eat a fish, and you couldn't even cook the fish because you need a permit for an open flame. And then the health department is gonna wanna ask you a bunch of questions about where you're going to dispose of the scales and the guts. This is not a sanitary environment. And ladies and gentleman, if you get sick and tired of it at the end of the day, it's not even legal to kill yourself in this country. You were born free and you got fucked out of half of it, and you wave a flag celebrating that fact...If you wanna fix the pledge of allegiance, put a disclaimer at the end: With liberty and justice for all...must be 18, void where prohibited, some restrictions may apply, not available in all states."
--any, I said it's odd because I'm trying to simplify my life and yet I'm creating a new profile on a video chat website which I'll probably never use. That's not simple at all.
