When one had a vision to create something in a way that no one else has, they definitely had a large task at hand. In a day and age where the majority of bands focus their attention on writing a handful of songs to fill up a CD with the hopes of having a "hit single" on their hands. Orlando, Florida's "Contest Of Arms" takes a slightly different approach. Since you have decided to go this far, it's probably time for us to personalize our story of how this came together. Founded in the summer of 2005 by four musicians from Volusia County, Contest Of Arms got together and contemplated taking on the quest to relay real life through their music. Due to a change of several things (i.e. lineup alterations, sound changes, etc)it took Contest Of Arms some time to take shape and get ready to attack the clubs and venues. Writing sessions began almost immediately after the bands finalization and stability occurred. Contest Of Arms decided it was time to record at Chango Studios based out of Orlando, Fl in February of 2006. Their first EP is the result of five creators fusing their talents to produce a record of breath taking talent and sophistication. A year later, after many long nights, and creative sessions Contest Of Arms decided to go back into the studio. With a new producer from Crush Studio's, the band began recording in early 2007. At Crush Studio's they finished a full length album witch is bound for success. To describe Contest Of Arms sound, they wanted their songs to be as diverse as the individuals in the band. They want to cover a broad spectrum for their genre. This is very apparent on the band's Full Length album that is coming out Fall of 2007. From the up beat songs "15 Minutes To Harlem" and "Sheen On The Rocks", to the brutal "Sharp Is safe, Dull Is Dangerous", Contest Of Arms proves their ability to take on one extreme to the next without missing a single beat.
