Something You Should Know About Me
My name's Taylor, and here's a bunch of random shit about me:
My life revolves around music. I'm a house DJ in Orlando, and I've played the piano for close to 13 years. I could sit and talk about music for hours. At the moment, my favorite genre is house, but I'm into folk, trance, drum and bass, classic rock. There's not really a genre I hate, just ones I prefer. If it's real music that involves real talent, I can respect it.
I am girlishly concerned with how my hair looks, and I think it looks totally fucking retarded.
I'm ridiculously old fashioned when it comes to chivalry (which is not dead) and respect.
I love to surf, I love to dive, I love to swim. I love being in the water more than any other place in the world.
I'm under immense pressure (from my parents and family) to get good grades, but they're not why I'm in college. I'm self-motivated, self-sufficient, and my parents don't pay for anything. And I like it that way.
My ultimate goal in life is travel. I've been lucky enough to live in London, and I've been to every state except Hawaii. Later, I want to make enough money so that I have the option to travel wherever I want, whenever I want. My priorities are Dublin, Paris, and Ibiza.
As bad as it sounds, I love money. I want the Ferrari, the mansion, the Rolex's, and the view of the ocean. I want a house in Laguna Niguel (where I was born), a house in Vermont, a house on the sand in Belize, and a sports car for each.
There are some things in my life I genuinely regret, and I'm ok with that. I think it's important to learn from them.
Throughout my young life, I hated my family. I always fought with my parents and my three little sisters. I've since matured and come to realize that, however annoying and dysfunctional my family may be (and it is, trust me), I'm infinitely lucky to have them. They've taught me more than anyone or anything else. Especially my dad, who I've never told that.
The apostrophe on my keyboard is right next to the enter key, and it makes me mad as hell.
I'm annoyingly superstitious.
I love conversation. Most people don't realize the value of actually sitting down and talking with someone. It's an art in itself, and to talk with someone else who's good at it, and connecting with that person, can be life-changing experience. We all need to talk more.
I've been in love. It was the best feeling I've ever had.
