With a fat dose of energy filled emotional rock the Dallas based band The Falling View definately has something going on. Their sound is youthful and very melodic, which makes them interesting in the jungle of emo bands. Within its grooves throbs an energetic band defining its own sound. Equal parts Taking Back Sunday — with some classic rock influences ranging from Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Red Hot Chili Peppers funk thrown in for good measure — the band plants one foot in emo and the other in what Hollyfield describes as “new alternative rock.” Originally driven by co-founder and bassist Ryan Wilhelm in 2005, the band spent that summer working with Dallas Producer Casey Diiorio, (Bowling for Soup, The Feds, Zac Maloy) to release their self titled EP. Bassist Ryan Wilhelm soon left the band early 2006, triggering a lineup change that presaged The Falling View. Filling the large shoes of Wilhelm, was former KK Holiday bassist Airik Denton in March of 06'. Members of the band have been fortunate enough to share the stage with bands such as Fall Out Boy, Number One Gun, Roses Are Red, Tyler Read, Self-Against City, Halifax, Rookie of the Year, and Saosin, and already have graced the Kevin Lyman/Hot Topic Stage for all the Texas stops on the Vans Warped Tour 2006. The quartet has built a loyal fan base the old-fashioned way — through thier intimate, energetic live performances and traditional word-of-mouth. Just recently, the band released their still untitled, self-produced EP and gave out over 1,200 copies of the record on all of their Warped Tour spots this summer!
