| The Hive openings are the first Saturday of every month with up to 60 artists involved, 10 performances, live painting, burlesque dancing and more! It's an art opening to be experienced- that is why we are now going to be broadcasting our shows on stickam, with live audio and interviews from our middle room performance stage, live footage of our beautiful Hive dancers, and various cameras around this 3000 sq. foot exotic art complex! The Hive is at the forefront of the growing lowbrow scene on the west coast. We have been the first to show artists such as Audrey Kawasaki, Jophen Stein, Josh Clay, Chet Zar and many, many more. Gallery owners, collectors, and press (such as LA Weekly, Juxtapoz magazine) from around the world frequent our space personally and online to find the hottest new talent. We have 5 featured artists a month, 1 installation artist, up to 100 artists in a group show, a "$50 and under" artist-made item store, and 12 working artist studios in the space. We specialize in lowbrow, highly techical, and pop-surrealist works (and any other work that we feel is pushing the envelope). The Hive is currently looking for artists in the Los Angeles area...as well as non-local artists To submit work you must: 1. Have a website or jpegs of your work 2. Show skill in your artistry 3. Ability to experiment and try new things with your work (we put on various specialty shows here) 4. Be actively creating new work |
