Biography
go green, stay healthy, live life Yoga is beneficial no matter how much or how little of it you can fit into your weekly schedule. It is recommended to start practicing yoga two or three times a week for an hour each time and work your way up from there if possible. However, any time that you can find for a yoga session will work too. Nothing special is required to begin a yoga session. The only things that are needed for a yoga session are your body, mind and comfortable, well-fitting workout clothes. Then you are ready for your first yoga experience! GO GREEN You want to do the right thing all the time -- we know. You're conscious of your global footprint and you make buying decisions based on environmental issues as much as on price whenever you can. That means two things: you have a social conscience and it can be hard for you to shop. Reduce, reuse, recycle may be stuck in our psyches, but when it comes to manufacturing, most products are still tough on the earth. Here are a few websites that can make things easier when you're in the market for home decor items. www.tenthousandvillages.ca www.grassrootsstore.com www.valhallaessences.com

HEALTHEIR YOU
Eat/Drink
Eat a small breakfast; this helps get your metabolism running. Drink 8 (8oz)glasses of water a day Avoid a lot of salty foods Eat from all the food groups each day if possible Eat 5-8 portions of fruit/veg a day. And not the same fruit, because if you keep eating, say an orange, it will only count as one. Eating different colours will provide you with different vitamins that your body needs ot be healthy. Eating 3 portions of oily fish a week acts as a good multi vitamin. Whether or not you are able to eat a fully balanced diet every day, you should be supplementing your food intake with a multi-vitamin. Most of these vitamins are water soluble, so you don't have to worry about getting "too much" of one vitamin if you're also eating food containing that vitamin - what your body doesn't need it will discard. Calcium is another important factor in a healthy diet - your body can only absorb 500mg of calcium at a time, and the recommended daily value is 1200mg to 1500mg. So spread out your dairy products and supplements for better absorption.
Exercise
Don't overwork yourself! Exercise before you eat; afterwards, your metabolism is working its best when you consume food, therefore helping you burn it off better Make sure to Warm Up and Warm down after exercising to minimize cramping and muscle tears.
Tips/Tricks
Eat your meals on smaller plates, that way, you have less of a chance of overloading yourself. Hunger is often mistaken for thirst. If you're hungry soon after you've just eaten, try having a bottle of water/juice to drink. Get plenty of fiber in your daily diet. Fiber helps you digest foods better and speeds up your metabolism.
