I feel that the movie industry has gone through some drastic changes over the past few years. Much more drastic than any previous times in history. And speculation is a necessary tool for any filmmaker today. I believe that the world wide audience has grown tired of the same stories lines that we've all seen so many times before. This is represented in the lack of numbers at the box offices and the growth of independent films through other viewing arenas like video and the internet. The lack of true drama and the overabundance of product has made it so that filmmakers must now begin to create original works and think outside the box when it comes to the way stories are told on the page as well as the screen. And that is how I choose to approach my films. - YORK SHACKLETON
