Talk radio as a listener-participation format has existed since at least the mid-1940s. When New York's WMCA DJ Barry Gray got bored playing music and put the telephone up to his microphone to talk with band leader Woody Herman, in 1945. Zen-Live Mimics this Classic Style of broadcasting with elements of listener participation, conversations with listeners who have placed calls to speak with the program's host or guest, Commercial Breaks, and musical pauses. We ask that Room Participants Mute their mics and keep comments in text during the show. Listeners who would like to be on air can skype in to "Zen-Live".
